BSCI social standards
For improved working conditions, against child labour
As a member of the BSCI (Business Social Compliance Initiative), HALFAR® is obligated to the BSCI Code of Conduct. Its aim is to adhere to certain social and environmental standards.
The Code of Conduct is based on the conventions of the International Labour Organisation (ILO), the UN Declaration of Human rights, the UN Declaration on the Rights of Children and on the Elimination of Discrimination Against Women, the UN Global Compact and the OECD guidelines for multinational companies.
In short: it focuses on improved working conditions and acting responsibly in a globalised economy.
The following requirements are of special importance and have been implemented in a development approach:
- Adherence to laws
- Freedom of assembly and the right to collective negotiations
- Ban on discrimination
- Legal minimum wage
- Working hours
- Health and safety at work
- Ban on child labour
- Ban on forced labour and disciplinary measures
- Environmental and safety questions
- Management systems
