We are proud to show – alongside many other regional companies – that diversity in leadership changes perspectives. In 2025, we were once again able to successfully fill all our training positions. This is an important milestone in times of a shortage of young talent. Five new trainees started with us on August 1, 2025. At the traditional Bagground Day before the start of training, we welcome the new trainees and their families: getting to know each other, a tour of the company, first contacts – a feeling of “arriving at a new home.” Our training work is diverse—and above all, it cannot be taken for granted. Trainee fairs, an Instagram channel (designed weekly by our trainees for the past five years), intensive onboarding, rotation through departments, tutoring and learning support, opportunities to study abroad, and much more. In 2025, the Chamber of Industry and Commerce honored us for outstanding training achievements. Our thanks go to all the trainers who make these successes possible with their commitment, patience, and enthusiasm. And, of course, to our young professionals, who impress with their motivation, creativity, and hard work. Our managing director's feedback on the trainee channel speaks for itself: “You rightly present yourselves as competent. You contribute positively to the HALFAR® brand – and your account is as interesting as it is informative.” May we also mention that our trainees are often among the most successful in their exams?

FOR BIODIVERSITY, THE CIRCULAR ECONOMY AND REAL PROGRESS
The future does not shape itself. We get involved in associations, collaborations and events. Issues such as sustainability, diversity and innovation are particularly important to us. In 2025, the focus of our discussions was on biodiversity, innovative product development and supplier development.
BIODIVERSITY – WORKING TOGETHER FOR DIVERSITY. This is a topic close to our hearts, one that we regularly discuss in various collaborations and frequently report on. In the interview articles ‘Biodiversity meets entrepreneurial spirit’ (econic 01/25) and ‘Biodiversity in your backpack’, Armin Halfar explained, for example, how natural greening on company premises has a real impact – on biodiversity, climate resilience and quality of life. The motto was: don't give up! Sustainability issues may no longer be such a political focus in the EU, but the issues remain unchanged! By 2025, we will have upgraded a watering hole that is very popular with insects, among other things. This takes time.
CIRCULAR ECONOMY – AN OUTSTANDING MILESTONE IN INNOVATIVE PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT. We are constantly developing our product range. Marketability, durability, renewable raw materials, recycled materials, reparability – these are issues that we are constantly addressing. In 2025, we were able to add the first mono-material product to our range – perfectly prepared for the resource cycle and awarded the PSI Academy Award 2025. We are proud of this achievement! And we will continue in 2026!
SUPPLY CHAINS IN FOCUS – FOR PEOPLE, WITH PEOPLE. Whistleblower system, factory visits and supplier audits: our products are made by people. That's why it's not only important to us that they are safe, functional, durable and attractive. We look at where our products are made – with factory visits, production inspections and compliance audits. Halfar itself is also audited regularly: in 2025, we were successfully recertified in the GOTS and GRS audits – a cornerstone of our holistic sustainability strategy.
WE ARE ON THE MOVE:
IN NATURE, WHEN DONATING BLOOD AND WITH OUR CUSTOMERS
Movement and impact are closely linked – as demonstrated by the initiatives we implemented together in 2025. It is worth taking a look back, not least because it is enjoyable:
REGIONAL STRENGTH – GLOBAL IMPACT. The company hiking day in Bielefeld showed how much power there is in moving together. Colleagues from different departments hiked side by side through the Teutoburg Forest – a day that combined team spirit, nature and light-heartedness.
MAKING A DIFFERENCE TOGETHER.
In close cooperation with our neighbours in the industrial park, we donated blood again in 2025 – a regular campaign that not only has an impact, but also shows that responsibility begins on our own doorstep.
AT TRADE FAIRS AND EVENTS – TOGETHER WITH CUSTOMERS. Whether at trade fairs, events or with our sales representatives: over the past year, we have been present at many events and met several hundred customers in person.
With The Hapticologist format, we joined forces with other players in the advertising industry to demonstrate for the first time at the OMR Festival how accessible and inspiring good haptic products can be, especially in a digital environment.
The response from customers was outstanding: ‘tangible marketing, real solutions and a palpable zest for life.’ The fact that The Hapticologist format has won various awards, such as the ‘German Agency Award 2025’, the ‘German Marketing Award’ and the ‘German Design Award 2026’, shows the high regard in which this innovative form of presentation is held.
Our world of speciality bags has hardly ever been as visible as it was in 2025: numerous trade fairs were attended with newly designed exhibition stands and attractive exhibits.

A BALANCING ACT... doesn't have to be good product design. Especially since the sturdy belts we manufacture for our customers promote the best for the next generation. Well thought-out, functional and durable – our textile solutions were used again in many areas in 2025.
