Shopper MONO by HALFAR receives the PSI Academy Award 2025
A shopper as an illustrator of the circular economy
The MONO shopper shows how circular economy can work in everyday life. It is made entirely from a single material – from the handles to the label – and is therefore fully recyclable. Produced using a special, waste-free manufacturing process, it saves raw materials and avoids waste. The concept is also consistent when it comes to packaging: the MONO does not require any plastic packaging and is transported in recyclable cardboard.
The shopper is also impressive in its suitability for everyday use. With a volume of 28 litres, it is spacious, tear-resistant, dimensionally stable and ergonomic to carry. The open shape allows quick access, and an inner pocket provides secure storage without zips or press studs. If desired, it can be simply wiped clean with a damp cloth if slightly soiled, washed at 30°C or repaired by the HALFAR repair service after the warranty period if damaged. This ensures that the MONO remains attractive and in use for an extra-long time. A plus for users as well as for the environment.
With its clear, timeless design, the MONO focuses on durability rather than trends. It complies with the principles of ‘design for recycling’ and thus contributes to the goals of the EU Green Deal: reuse, repair, recycle. It is produced in an amfori BSCI-audited factory under fair social conditions. Its CO₂ emissions are calculated and offset by certified climate protection projects. This makes MONO not only a promotional item with added value, but also an ambassador for conscious consumption – a product that makes the circular economy visible and tangible.
An award with symbolic significance
The PSI Academy Awards were presented for the first time in 2025. Applications from twelve countries were assessed in terms of sustainability, compliance and suitability as promotional items. Our MONO shopper bag impressed in all areas – and we can now proudly call ourselves a "changemaker in the promotional products industry". The award ceremony took place on 11 September in the historic Gürzenich in Cologne – an inspiring location to set new impulses for the future together with the industry.
