5 REASONS FOR AN APPRENTICESHIP AT HALFAR

Studying or rather an apprenticeship?

At the end of school, many pupils ask themselves the question: What now? Do I go to university or start an apprenticeship? Of course, the decision also depends on what profession you want to pursue later. If you want to work in the medical or legal field or, for example, as a teacher, there is no way around studying. But if you would rather do an apprenticeship, Halfar is the right place for you.
If you don't just want to gain theoretical knowledge after school, but also get straight into practice, then opt for an apprenticeship at Halfar. We asked our current trainees what they like about Halfar and their training here. Here are the 5 most frequently mentioned reasons:

1. Seven different apprenticeships

Our training programme is as diverse as our bags. As a medium-sized company, we currently offer apprenticeships in five professions.

You will be involved right from the start and can contribute your knowledge to a wide range of departments. In the commercial area, you will learn how to deal with customers. In warehouse logistics, your manpower and ability to act and react quickly are expected. As a budding textile and fashion seamstress, you will be expected to demonstrate your manual skills and talent at the sewing machine. And in the graphics department you can give free rein to your creativity, for example when designing a customer logo on a bag.

2. Getting to know many specialist areas

In contrast to large corporations, which have several production and sales locations, HALFAR® carries out many work steps directly on site in Bielefeld. From product development and purchasing to sales and marketing, you can experience every step that an advertising bag goes through here. Our warehouse with 10,000 pallet spaces and several finishing departments are also located in our Bielefeld bag factory. Here you can take a look at the embroidery department or the warehouse at any time and ask your colleagues questions. And in the pattern making department, you can experience live how a customised bag is developed and sewn. This way you can familiarise yourself with the entire process.

3. Exciting and diverse products

We all have bags and rucksacks. Some more, others less. Did you know that there are also different types of packaging that are manufactured as special bags for specific areas? For example, first-aid bags, as you may know them from your car, or tool bags. But bags are also a common and popular product as promotional items, as they are versatile and durable. Perhaps you have already received a bag printed with a logo as a gift at a trade fair, event or from your school? Then it's quite possible that you've unknowingly come into contact with a HALFAR® bag. Or do you even have a bag from your favourite club at home that happens to be from HALFAR®?

Many trainees who start at HALFAR® are amazed at how versatile a bag can be and what bags can be used for. Whether in the technical or advertising sector. Get to know our two specialist areas for yourself and see what parts a bag is made of and how it is manufactured.

4. Support with school-related aspects

You will also receive support from the company for your school education. For example, in the form of additional preparatory courses for the final examination. To this end, Halfar enables trainees to take part in so-called synartIQ seminars. Here, all important topics of the main subjects are refreshed in small groups together with a lecturer. Afterwards, the trainees receive a summary of the topics, which they can take home with them and repeat there. This ensures that you are well prepared for the exam.

5. Friendly working relationship

Although we are constantly growing and gaining new employees, we still have a fairly manageable company size with around 100 employees. At the same time, flat hierarchies and generally friendly interaction with colleagues ensure a friendly working relationship at HALFAR®. Everyone is on first-name terms right from the start, which creates a relaxed working atmosphere and helps to break down inhibitions more quickly. Colleagues also meet up in their free time to do things together. Incentives are also used to promote team building. Each employee receives a budget for this once a year and can decide together with their team what they would like to do together. Whether it's archery, a comedy event or a dinner together... it's up to the teams.

Numerous individual training opportunities for employee development

True to the motto "If you can work, you can party", joint events are also a matter of course at HALFAR®. These include our legendary Christmas parties. The last one, for example, took place in the VIP lounge of the SchücoArena (Bielefelder Alm) and even included a tour of the dressing rooms.

For the current year, we are once again looking for employees who are characterised by flexibility, commitment and solution-oriented thinking.
