INTERVIEW WITH APPRENTICES: E-COMMERCE

Apprenticeship at Halfar - Interview with Laura

Halfar is now also offering an apprenticeship as an e-commerce management assistant (m/f/d). The first trainee in this area, Laura, reports on her experiences and impressions in the sixth part of the series " Apprenticeship at Halfar - an interview with apprentices".

More about apprenticeships at Halfar

Why did you decide to do an apprenticeship instead of studying after school?

I wanted to apply the knowledge I had learnt from my vocational baccalaureate in the field of business and administration and incorporate it into my first practical tasks to really start my working life.

How did you hear about an apprenticeship at Halfar?

I found out about Halfar through a job advert on the employment agency's job exchange.

How long do you expect your apprenticeship to last?

My apprenticeship as an e-commerce clerk is designed to last 3 years, but there is also the option to shorten it, which I will take advantage of. This means I'll be completing my apprenticeship this summer.

What were your first impressions at Halfar?

My first impression was very good. We are on first-name terms here and everyone is friendly and very helpful.

What activities have you been able to learn and apply so far?

As I've already been at Halfar for 1.5 years, I've been in many different departments and have learnt a lot. This includes writing quotations, creating orders, placing orders, checking invoices, picking goods, creating customers in the online shop and much more.

What are your plans for your time at Halfar?

I would like to learn more tasks so that I can then contribute to my team and support my colleagues.

What have you liked best so far?

I like the fact that I work in many departments. This means you always see something new and get to know the company and all employees better.

What have you liked least so far?

You always spend a certain amount of time in each department. Sometimes there are tasks that are less to your liking.

What makes Halfar a good training company?

Halfar is a good training company because, as a trainee, you are given a wide variety of tasks right from the start and are also given responsibility over time. You get to know many specialist areas in a familiar atmosphere. I'm already looking forward to learning even more about e-commerce.

Why did you decide to become an e-commerce clerk?

The great thing about the job of an e-commerce clerk is that it's not just a purely commercial apprenticeship, but also falls into the technical and creative area. At school, for example, we learn the programming language and we can incorporate our creative side into the design of the website. That's what makes the job so varied and exciting. Thank you very much for this interview, Laura! We wish you every success in your final exams!
